Eind 1981 gingen Bert en ik naar Egypte via Jordanië. In Jordanië ging ik voor het eerst serieus aan het ‘buitentekenen’ oftewel Urban Sketching. Ik wist nog niet goed hoe ik het het beste kon aanpakken, maar ik deed het en dat was het belangrijkste.
Veel van de tekeningen heb ik thuis gebruikt als basis voor schilderijen met minder succes
At the end of 1981 Bert and I went to Egypt via Jordan. It was the first time that I seriously and purposefully got into Urban Sketching. I didn’t know really what I was doing, but I did it and that was the most important thing.
Many of the sketches served later as basis for paintings. Those however were less successful
