Covid-19 2de 5km limiet / second 5km limit

Van 26 december 2020 tot 12 april 2021 ging Ierland opnieuw over tot een reislimiet van 5km. Ik vond de beperking veel lastiger te verdragen dan de eerste keer. Daarom besloot ik om de 5km te overschrijden en de rest van Achill Island te gaan onderzoeken of het ook schetsgeniek was.

From December 26 2020 till April 12 2021 Ireland went again into the 5 km limit restriction. This time around it wasn’t easy. I decided to breach the limit and explore the rest of the island of Achill on its sketch appeal.

In deze tekeningen wilde ik nu eens de relatie zee en land onderzoeken. Voor mij is de zee een lijn aan de horizon en wordt het pas interessant als de zee tegen land botst. Het is echter niet makkelijk een goede parkeerplek te vinden vanwaar ik kon tekenen.

In these sketches I wanted to catch the relation between land and sea. For me the sea is a line on the horizon. It only becomes interesting when sea meets shore. However it wasn’t easy to find parking spaces from where I could sketch.

Ik ging ook verder met het wonderbaarlijke fenomeen dat daken en bergen in dit deel van Ierland in samenspraak lijken.

I also continued with the theme of  roofs and gables corresponding with the shape of the mountains in these parts

Komt het einde dan eindelijk in zicht? Op 5 april 2021 kreeg ik de eerste vaccinatie injectie. Het wordt tijd want er is geen fatsoen meer te krijgen in mijn haar.

Is the end of the pandemic finally coming in sight? And high time it is! I badly need another session with the hairdresser. On April 5th 2021 I got my first jab. 

Tegelijkertijd ging ik illustraties maken bij de Rosie verhalen van Doutsje Nauta die zich in Friesland afspelen / At the same time I started to make illustrations to the Rosie stories of Doutsje Nauta. The stories are set in Frisia in the north of the Netherlands
